2.5. Gravity eliminated shoulder external rotation on table

Gravity eliminated shoulder external rotation on table 


Movements strengthened: Shoulder external rotation strength. 

Suitable for: 1-2/5 shoulder external rotation strength. 


Instructions: 

  • Person sitting with upper arm by the side and forearm on a table 
  • Stabilize the elbow at the side and hold the upper arm. 
  • Slide the forearm back 
  • Hold for 5 seconds and then slowly return
  • Repeat 10 times 
  • For active-assisted movement, encourage as much independent movement as possible 


Where this movement should be felt: 

Person should feel this in their lateral and posterior shoulder.
