3. Elbow exercises
3.1. Active-assisted elbow bend
Active-assisted elbow bend
Movements strengthened: Elbow flexion strength.
Suitable for: 0-2/5 elbow flexion strength.
Instructions:
- Person seated beside a table with the involved arm on the table
- Hold the wrist of the involved arm with the other hand
- Gently bend the elbow as far as possible
- Hold for 5 seconds and then slowly straighten your arm back out as far as possible
- Repeat 10 times
- For active-assisted movement, encourage as much independent movement as possible
Where this movement should be felt:
Person should feel this in their anterior arm.
